Some Totally Good News

We received a phone call from our six year old granddaughter, Hannah. As always, we answered with excitement and enthusiasm as our hearts leaped in joy in hearing from her. She went on to say, “Poppy, I got some totally good news.!” “What’s that Hannah?”, both of us chorused. “I asked Jesus into my heart. I am now a child of God!”, exclaimed our Granddaughter. Well with that news we wept tears of joy as we reassured her that she was now, indeed, a child of God. Our hearts were warmed and our souls overflowed with gratitude towards God!

She had received an Easter in a bag from her own church and her mommy and daddy had shared in those activities together at home.

The totally good news is that we can experience the love of God anywhere, anytime. As God is waiting for you and I to come to Him just as we are with the faith of a little child.

“Now, brothers and sisters, I want you to remember the Good News I told you. You received that Good News message, and you continue to base your life on it. That Good News, the message you heard from me, is God’s way to save you. But you must continue believing it. If you don’t, you believed for nothing. I gave you the message that I received. I told you the most important truths: that Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say; that he was buried and was raised to life on the third day, as the Scriptures say.”
1 Corinthians 15

The rewards of being a child of God are immeasurable. As God’s child, we are a part of His family (the church), promised a home in heaven, and given the right to approach God in prayer (Ephesians 2:19; 1 Peter 1:3–6; Romans 8:15). Respond to God’s call to repent of sin and believe in Christ. Become a child of God today!

So my friends, as you have listened to the Good News today, we would be happy to hear of your decision to become a child of God.
