Chalk Marks

As I gathered the last of the chalk from our front garden today, I couldn’t help but reminisce about our granddaughter’s, “the girlies”, vibrant and creative artwork. Each drawing was a testament to their boundless imagination and their uncontainable joy in expressing themselves. With every stroke of the chalk, they painted stories of adventure, love, and discovery, leaving behind masterpieces that celebrated learning and imagination.

A Canvas of Memories

The front walk of our garden became their canvas, a place where their dreams came to life in a riot of colors. From whimsical creatures to abstract patterns, each piece was crafted with pride and care. The girlies would spend hours lost in their world of creativity, their laughter filling the air as they shared their stories with each other and with me.

Fading Marks, Lasting Joy

Though the chalk marks have since disappeared, washed away by time and the elements, the memories remain vivid and cherished. Each artwork was more than just a drawing; it was a moment captured in time, a snapshot of their growing minds and hearts. These memories, filled with laughter and love, will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Tears of Gratitude

As I cleaned up the remnants of their art, tears did flow—not from sadness, but from gratitude. Gratitude for the joy they brought into our lives, for the lessons learned through their creativity, and for the fleeting yet precious moments we shared. Though the chalk is gone, the impact of their artistry lingers on, a reminder of the beauty of childhood and the power of imagination.
