The sales clerk, the kid on a bicycle, the crossing guard, the man who stands in line for food for his family – all have a story to tell. Our stories give us cause for celebration, for grief, for sadness… every story is unique and important treated with respect and a listening ear.
Into our story God brings influencers who help share who we are and who we will become. Our stories come to light as we take the moment to listen.
While under the Oil Painting instruction of my Father-In-Law, I would hear his words, “Light to show dark and dark to show light.” While thinking about these words, the light came on (no pun intended) and I realized that as the light of God shines into our hearts it brings to light the darkness of our hearts. The darkness of our hearts is indeed filled with sin and we must repent. It is God’s light that reveals the true colors of the heart. When the Light of God is Received and Sin is Forgiven, then the “True Colors” of God can really shine through.
What are God’s True Colors for us?
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
