About The Salvation Army Whitby Community Church and Ministries

A welcoming place for faith and community.

Who we are

Whitby Community Church is a congregation of The Salvation Army committed to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ and serving our community with compassion and dignity.

We are a place of hope — guided by a heart for God, grounded in prayer, and passionate about reaching out to others. Our desire is to be a community where everyone is cared for, loved, encouraged, and welcomed just as they are. Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, or looking for a church family, we would be honoured to walk alongside you.

Whitby Community Church Land Acknowledgement:

The Salvation Army Whitby acknowledges the many indigenous nations that have longstanding relationships with the territories upon which our church and community service ministries are located.  We acknowledge we are the on the traditional lands of the Great Mississauga Nations, specifically within the Williams Treaty territory. This statement recognizes communities including the Mississaugas of Scugog Island, Alderville, Beausoleil, Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Chippewas of Georgina Island, and Rama.

We believe it is important that we learn, and work to reconcile the impact we, and those before us, have had on the original inhabitants. We want to continue the path of truth and reconciliation, and we thank them for sharing this land with us. It is now a place where we meet, share hope, and build community.  We share this with First Nations people and all who want to call it home.  Together we will continue to work towards a different future that is just, equitable, and filled with grace.
