We Will Remember Them

Here is an excerpt from a Post from Retired Salvation Army Officer, Major Ted Percy.

“I was just thinking, Remembrance Day is fast approaching once again!

For some reason it causes me to think of sacrifice.

I have been thinking there is no such thing as greatness made easy, glory at half price, achievement at the bargain counter. In the simplest terms, a sacrifice is a gift to God, a gift which has basic values to us and Him.

I am remembering my uncle Max Percy who lost his life during WW2 as a member of the Navy. All we have is a photo of him under which is written “Missing In Action”. It causes me to think that love without sacrifice is like a fire without flame.

They bleed that we may be blessed; they keep watch that we may take rest and sleep; they suffer and of times die that we may live.

I stand at attention and wear my poppy with deep respect, love and gratitude to God for those who gave their life for our freedom.”
