THE EYES SAY IT ALL

“I can’t believe I’m standing here asking for food” said a very elderly gentleman with tears in his eyes. “Oh sir – it’s truly okay we are very happy to help” As we shared conversation and the regular donated food, he was asked if he would like to register for Christmas Assistance” . “Could I”, he said. I will never forget the excitement I saw in his eyes as he was handed his Christmas Hamper and especially the Turkey. “You mean I get a turkey”. His watery eyes sparkled with joy! To add to his joy he was asked if he had any pets. And as he was given some dog food he exclaimed, “I can’t wait to share this with my dog he is going to be happy too”.

The Salvation Army in Whitby continues to give unconditionally . Thank you for your donations that help us bring joy and hope to others.
