UPDATE AS OF JULY 2021

As you are aware, the province of Ontario is now gradually Re-Opening.

Here is what this means for church life and ministry here at The Salvation Army in Whitby.

COMMUNITY AND FAMILY SERVICES 

Community and Family Services are deemed essential services operating under full safety protocols. However, the following modifications have been made to align with provincial restrictions: 

  • Limited Volunteers 

  • Curb side based service delivery only  – no clients will be entering the building

  • All CFS personnel will wear appropriate PPE at all times.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES 

The church facilities are currently closed. Until further notice all in-person worship and Church programs continue to be suspended in accordance with The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters and Regional Health guidelines.

Online Worship, Bible Studies and Prayer Meetings continue to be offered through Whitby On-Line and ZOOM.

We all know that this situation is an ever-evolving one. As our government releases updates and changes to restrictions , we will process the information accordingly: 

  • Consulting with the experts in our midst;

  • Listening to the direction of Public Health agencies (municipal and provincial) and Divisional Headquarters.

  • Discerning with our church leadership team if the new information or change in restrictions merits an update to the current Whitby response, or whether we ought to continue on our current course.

Thrift Store

The Thrift Store has Re-Opened as of Friday June 11th, 2021. The Thrift Store is following the Guidelines for Phase 3 of the Provincial Re-Opening Plan.  All COVID 19 protocols must be followed. The hours of Operation are 11am – 4pm Monday – Saturday.
